Fancy seeing you here!

Madeleine Maule is a freelance illustrator, hand letterer, designer, and storyteller from Woodbury, New Jersey. She is currently working towards a BFA in Illustration with a concentration in Drawing at Maryland Institute College of Art (MICA) in Baltimore, MD. Her work was awarded by the Society of Illustrators and Pentel of America. She was a Zankel Scholar nominee for the Society of Illustrators in 2024. Clients include the Bureau of Land Management, Pentel of America, Metro Gallery, and Poppy Bridge Publishing.

Madeleine grew up surrounded by tall trees, strange paths, antiques, and music. She aims to convey human feeling by processing past experiences to create new perspectives. She takes inspiration from the world around her, especially things otherwise overlooked.

She loves fountain pens, ink, watercolor, gouache, colored pencils, crayons, and digital media. She also loves George (right) and Sadie (not pictured.)

She is currently seeking opportunities in book illustration, music design, hand lettering, editorials, surface design, and packaging design.

You can contact her for collaborations, commissions, book recommendations, hot takes, or anything else that you think she should know about at madalelly@gmail.com or @madalelly on Instagram.
